Watercolor collections – BUDAPEST

Budapest seasons

This special watercolor collection was created during 2022-2023 representing beauty of Budapest during all four seasons.

SPRING. Crisp greens of lovely springtime are shining in this watercolor painting of Budapest! Many details, intricate work, and amazing imaginative perspectives! Enjoy the feeling of new life and wonder, and rest your eyes on endless details.

SUMMER. Bird sight view of the beautiful capital of Hungary – Budapest. Bright greens and blue sky live in harmony with the numerous beautiful buildings of the city. Gorgeous Buda castle and the Parliament – famous landmarks of Budapest, red roofs of the Buda side and flat more modern Pest side. This watercolor painting has all the diversity of Budapest in one view!

AUTUMN. Orange, golden, red, and yellow shades almost burn on this painting of autumn Budapest! Magical as a dream about a perfect day in the fall captured in watercolour. As always painting is filled with intricate details… can you spot a couple sitting on the bench in a park?

Budapest bridges

Five famous bridges of Budapest in watercolor! This watercolor painting collection was created during 2021-2023. Each painting is unique and never made in exact copy – each one is special.

Margaret bridge. Cheerful yellow bridge of Budapest. Fully enough,  the huge statues on the pillars usually go unnoticed by the citizens, so I’m happy to highlight them, as they fully deserve the attention!

Chain bridge. Freshly renovated Chain Bridge – the most famous bridge in Budapest! Observe new intricate details and the beauty of the restored original design.

Chain bridge before the renovation, you can even spot some rust on the lantern! View that cannot be seen anymore but stayed captured in watercolor, truly a piece of history now.

Elizabeth bridge. Modern and light Elizabeth Bridge shows a big contrast to its neighbors Chain bridge and Liberty Bridge. Green and beautiful Gellert Hill can be seen in the background.

Liberty bridge. My favorite bridge in Budapest! I love it so much that I even live not far from it. That was my first painting in the whole Bridges collection and you can see that the map has a different design (I made it more elegant lately), the car and tram don’t have any drivers and the other side of the Danube is like in a mist. Well, I changed a lot in the second version, but this work is still very dear to my heart.

The second version of my favorite bridge – the Liberty Bridge. Here you can already spot me as a tram driver, I added sunshine and many new details. My soul was healing.

Last, is the third version of Liberty Bridge. I changed only a few details, but the amount of details I painted on this one is truly impressive. I think I’ll never get tired of painting my beloved Liberty Bridge.

Petőfi bridge. Petőfi bridge is one that local people usually name ugly. Yes, it doesn’t look tidy and lacks proper renovation, but still, it has its charm and I love to cycle around it on my small Csepel bike. Also, if you are a truly curious soul, you can check the archives how it looked before. A hint – it misses a lot from the upper part. Maybe one day I’ll make a collection about architectural “ghosts” of Budapest, who knows?
